Testimonials:

The Taste of Tooting Tour was wonderful! I have lived in Tooting for decades and I know it is an exciting, vibrant and ever-changing community & shopping centre but I still learned a lot. The substantial “tastes” were delicious and the shop and stall keepers were all so friendly and welcoming. Thank you Dipa for the best afternoon I’ve had in ages.” Angela

We really enjoyed the informative, fun, delicious(!) walk on the 18th.  Well done to you for organising and then doing a brilliant job as tour guide. The vendors we met were generous with their time and obviously passionate about what they do, and about Tooting ‘foodie capital’!  The easy relationships you have with everyone we visited was further proof that our guide was a knowledgeable, respected local guide. Taste of Tooting Tour is a wonderful introduction for new Tooting residents, but a wonderful way to learn more about Tooting no matter how long you’ve lived here. I would also proudly take visitors on this excellent local tour. Our only regret is that we didn’t have this opportunity when we first moved to Tooting.” – Deborah and Jim

As a group of five colleagues, we went on the food tour for part of our staff team building day. Dipa Patel, the organiser and tour guide, was fun, informative and engaging. We learned about the rich history and architecture Tooting boasts while sampling excellent food and drinks at welcoming market stands. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys learning about food and exploring new areas of London. Thank you Taste of Tooting Tours!” – Martha (The London School of Economics)

The Taste of Tooting is very much about food but it is so much more than that. Our guide, Dipa Patel, took us on a social and historical journey explaining how and why Tooting is so unique. Her passion, enthusiasm, knowledge and championing of local establishments is clearly evident throughout the tour. The tastings were delectably well picked and most definitely eye opening even to the self confessed foodies out there! Owners were friendly and very happy to find time in their busy weekend schedules to talk to us and answer any questions. The whole experience was fantastic; like the sampled food it leaves you wanting more. Highly recommended!” – Cammie

This was my first London food tour and right off the bat; I was very impressed with what I saw and ate. Dipa was very informative about Tooting and its history but not to the point of being too in-depth to the point of boredom. Dipa clearly knows all the great places to eat and there was not one dish I didn’t like stuffing in my face. From Indian delicacies to Polish dumplings we nom nom-ed our way around Tooting with our guide answering our questions and introducing us to local shop owners. I can’t wait to go back to Tooting to try some more of the restaurants! Thank you Dipa!” – Adam
